The folks at CandyStore.com have used their sales from the last 11 years to come up with the most beloved candy across the country by state, and the results may surprise you.
Think you know your state’s top selling sweet treat? Keep reading to see America’s top five faves!
1. Skittles
Skittles comes in at number one, taking the crown for America's sweet tooth every October! Specifically, this round and sweet candy is a favorite of California, Hawaii, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and South Carolina––where we assume residents can't help but taste the rainbow.
2. M&M's
North Carolina, Washington D.C. and Ohio all favor this Halloween staple—chocolate M&Ms. For D.C, this is no surprise as M&Ms have been the favorite candy of our nation's capital for the last three years running!
3. Snickers
Snickers satisfies tons of people in Arizona and Florida, the two states where the candy is most popular. Candy Store reports over 1.6 million pounds of Snickers are purchased over the course of the Halloween season!
4. Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
Texas, Oregon, Kansas and Wyoming pack away Reese's Peanut Butter Cups once Halloween rolls around! These four combined states purchased over 1.4 million pounds of the delicious peanut butter and chocolate candy of our dreams over the last 11 years.
5. Starburst
Rounding out the top five, Starburst reigns supreme in New Hampshire and South Dakota. Dakotans have kept with their fave candy yet again this year, while residents in New Hampshire have kicked Snickers to the curb, the Granite State's fave from last year.
