Backyard barbecues and summer campouts are filled with fun, but they also come with bugs. Lots and lots of bugs.

While your kids might love exploring insects, no one likes getting bitten by mosquitoes. These spray-free mosquito sticks could be the answer you’ve been looking for.

Bug spray can help avoid the bite, but with most potent sprays containing DEET, you might not want to trade protection from bugs for exposure to chemicals. That’s where the Murphy Mosquito Sticks come in. All you have to do is the light the stick, kind of like you would light an incense stick, and place it in a candle holder nearby and you’re set to enjoy the outdoors bite-free.

The Amazon reviews are a ringing endorsement boasting hundreds of satisfied buyers saying things like “they work as well or better than any citronella or incense style bug deterrent” and “I use them every night and have no bites!”

The DEET-free sticks come in an 8-pack for $7.80 on Amazon and are available in a variety of scents including rosemary, peppermint, citronella, lemongrass, cedarwood and bamboo.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recently expanded its infant ibuprofen recall. Tris Pharma issued a voluntary recall of its Infants’ Ibuprofen Concentrated Oral Suspension, USP (NSAID) 50 mg per 1.25 mL initially in December 2018. Representatives from Tris Pharma referred to its statement online about the recall when reached for comment.

The recall expansion, announced Jan. 30, 2019, includes three additional lots of Ibuprofen Oral Suspension Drops, USP, 50 mg per 1.25 mL. The infant ibuprofen, sold by CVS, Family Dollar and Walmart, may contain up to 700 percent higher concentrations of ibuprofen than the recommended dose, posing a serious health risk. Potential adverse effects from taking this over-the-counter medication could include vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, headache or ringing in the ears.

Recalled Infants’ Ibuprofen Description

The current recall includes three lots of  Infants’ Ibuprofen Concentrated Oral Suspension, USP (NSAID) 50 mg per 1.25 mL, packaged in 0.5 oz. bottles. Again, the affected products were sold at CVS, Family Dollar and Walmart stores. Visit the FDA’s website for a full list of the initially and currently recalled products, lot numbers and expiration dates here.

The brand names that the ibuprofen was sold under include Equate (at Walmart stores), CVS Health (at CVS) and Family Wellness (at Dollar General). You can also see the label and packaging scans below.

Why the Ibuprofen Was Recalled

The ibuprofen oral suspension may contain concentrations of the medication that are dangerous to infants. Along with GI symptoms, such as vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain and gastrointestinal bleeding, the potentially dangerous concentration of ibuprofen may also cause headaches and ringing in the ears.

It’s also possible that infants who are more susceptible to the higher potency may experience permanent NSAID-associated renal injury. Currently, no illnesses or injuries have been reported.

How To Tell If Your Ibuprofen Is Part of the Recall

Review the lot number, expiration date, description and seller name at the FDA”s website here.

What Parents Can Do

If you have the affected product, don’t use it. Return it to the place of purchase or dispose of it responsibly. Never leave medication in an open trash can. This poses a safety to risk to your child, wildlife/pets and other people. Direct questions or concerns to Tris Customer Service at 732-940-0358, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. Pacific.

Parents who have concerns about their children’s health should contact their pediatrician or other qualified healthcare provider immediately.

The next time you head out for errands, keep your eyes peeled at your fellow moms shopping with you—celeb mom sightings at Target are totally a thing! We’ve long believed that celebrity parents are just like the rest of us, and now we know we aren’t alone in our love of the bullseye retailer.

Keep scrolling to see which one of your fave celebs can’t get enough of Target runs, too.

Beyoncé

Queen Bey was spotted recently wandering the baby aisle at Target looking stunning as ever. While the rest of us might slum to the retailer in our best mom sweats, the mom of three may just have inspired us to step it up a notch.

Chrissy Teigen

Chrissy Teigen also has an exclusive collab with Target, so shopping at Target makes sense. But for the launch of her new kitchen line, she did more than just shop at Target—she actually worked at Target for a day, ringing up customers! Teigen also had some pretty funny thoughts about that whole “Beyoncé shopping at Target” news, too.

Joanna Gaines

With five kids in tow, we’re surprised Jojo doesn’t use curbside pickup or same-day delivery for her Target runs! It’s probably that whole amazing Hearth & Hand with Magnolia collab that keeps her coming in store.

Jenna Bush Hager

Jenna Bush Hager knows how to be resourceful and that includes covering up her locks something every Target aficionado has lying around: a plastic Target shopping bag! The TODAY Show co-host wouldn’t let a swim in the pool ruin her good hair day!

Serena Williams

Last summer, Serena let us all in on her shopping secret––shop Target at night! The tennis superstar prefers to shop late night to get in her Target fix and to try on all the swimsuits she wants without being bothered.

Britney Spears

Do you think Brit Brit is shopping for an anniversary edition of “Hit me Baby, One More Time?” The pop star and mom of two has to do her Target runs, too! Seriously—Britney really likes Target, according to court documents about her spending habits obtained by E! News in 2018.

Jessica Alba

Yup, this actress and mompreneur shops Target, too––after all, they were one of the first places you could stock up on The Honest Company products! She’s been spotted both solo and with her three kiddos in tow.

Jennifer Garner

As a mom of three, it’s no surprise that Jennifer Garner would find herself at Target constantly. Oh, and that whole new line of organic baby food (Once Upon a Farm) probably helps, too. We’ve seen plenty of smiles while she shops and can we please just be besties already?

Michelle Obama

In 2011, the then-First Lady was spotted shopping incognito at Target and it caused quite the uproar at the time. In 2015, Obama told Stephen Colbert “shopping at Target” was one of the things she was most looking forward to once she and her husband left the White House after his second term. (Could we blame her? We think not.)

Sure, you go there for the dried coconut snacks, organic wild arugula, rustic multi-grain bread and three-layer hummus. But now your fave grocery retailer has something that’s even better than their frozen orange chicken (but really, is anything better than that?). Yep, Trader Joe’s podcast is pure awesomeness. And here’s what you need to know about it.

The new podcast, Inside Trader Joe’s, takes listeners inside of the super-popular chain. With more than 41,000 crew members spread across 475 stores, Trader Joe’s is a well-loved part of the grocery community. Now we’re all getting a chance to pull back the curtain and get a peek inside what really goes on.

The five-episode podcast includes episodes that focus on the products, their values and their brand—all with info straight from the Captains (those are the store managers) and Crew. So what specifically will you hear in these fab little podcast episodes? Well, to start with answers to some of the questions that you’ve probably always had. Um, like those two bells ringing? If you’ve ever stood in line and thought, “What in the heck are those and do they mean that someone just won a TJ’s prize that I don’t know about?” The answer, according to episode one, is that someone has a question in need of answering. Hmm. Good to know.

Oh, and this isn’t a five-episode long commercial about just how crazy-cool TJ’s is. Nope. They even talk about their misses. Notably, their cream of venison soup and cottonseed butter (instead of peanut butter). Whoa!

Morgan, of Little Hen House, is one of our favorite mom bloggers and she’s here to talk about all things San Diego while raising two little girls. She tackles shopping for the kids, day trips, and local kid-friendly restaurants. All while having a bunch of chickens in her backyard. Amazing. Thanks Morgan!

1. What is the best thing about living in your neighborhood?

I love how close we are to everything. We are half a mile from Downtown, a stone’s throw from Coronado, and a short drive to the Zoo and Sea World. I also love that our neighborhood is diverse and colorful. Even our flock of backyard chickens fit right in!

2. Where do you shop for your kids clothes?

I actually do most of my shopping at second-hand and thrift stores. I love Baby Go Round and Amvets for gently used children’s clothing and toys. I love the thrill of the hunt and it makes my day when I can score great finds from Baby Gap, Janie and Jack, or Mini Boden. When I have the opportunity to splurge, The Hillside Artisans Children’s Boutique in Mission Hills and Style Child in Hillcrest are my absolute favorites.

3. What is your favorite local vacation or day trips?

We love to visit the Wynola Farms Marketplace in Julian, Disneyland is always a hit, and we are hoping to rent a cabin with friends in Big Bear this New Year’s Eve. I’m all for putting the girls down and then ringing in the New Year with some adult beverages.

4. Describe a perfect Sunday with your family.

The Perfect Sunday would be hitting up the Hillcrest Farmer’s Market first thing in the morning and then heading home for a lunch of fresh local and organic produce. If everything goes according to plan, the entire household would take an afternoon nap followed by a beach walk in Coronado. While there, we would grab some frozen yogurt and picnic in the park. Then kids would go to bed early and my husband and I would spend the evening watching Mad Men reruns. I’m totally swooning just thinking about it!

5. Where do you like to catch a bite with the little one in tow?

My all-time favorite place to take the kids is The Station Tavern in South Park. It’s a hip burger joint/bar that also boasts an outdoor play area for kids. It’s heaven.
